Back it back

How the fuck did I get here? Do you ever feel like this? I know you do. It’s like you wake up and can suddenly see clearly.. then think, how did I get here.. what just happened?

You were asleep.. metaphorically.. spiritually.. most likely emotionally too. Unconscious. On autopilot. Go go go.

Then you stop. Pause. Breathe. Here you are. It doesn’t really matter how you got here, but what matters is learning from it, choosing differently. Choice. Choice implies consciousness. Choice is power. What do you choose?

So you’re here.. let’s back it back. You can look at your current situation. What are the results you have right now? What is happening? (It really is about getting curious and asking the questions.. then the magic is in how honest you can be with your answers..)

If you look at your results (it might be no clients, lets make it personal for me).. then you can back it back to the actions (or inactions) you have been taking.. because your results are just the outcome of your actions. This might be (for me) no marketing or no business plan which are both inactions. We can then back it back again and look at how we were/are feeling. What was the feeling that generated our particular action or inaction. Were we unmotivated? Sad? Low? Doubtful? Worried? Anxious? We then have a reaction to these feelings. Our feelings generate our next step.. but lets back it back again..

What were we thinking? What were our thoughts? What were the sentences going on in our minds that produced a feeling that generated an action or inaction? Go within.. to your mind.. to that sentence. Was it “I can’t be bothered”, or “I never get what I want” or “it’s not worth it” or “it’ll be okay” or “I’ll do it later”… whatever it was, can you see how this thought, led to that feeling, that led to what came or did not come next… Your results are a product of your thoughts.

What you think is what you get.

Our circumstances.. which are what triggers our thoughts, are only things/events/situations.. they are neutral (not good or bad) until we have a thought about it. We often blame or project or judge our circumstances instead or realising that we can simply change our thoughts about.. which will then assist us to produce the results (change) we desire.

By looking at our lives this way, we can solve any problem.. change any perception or create a plan to action our desired results. Instead of looking at our circumstances negatively, we can choose positive thoughts to motivate us to act in alignment with our desired outcomes.

This work is from The Life Coach School and in my opinion a faultless and extraordinary tool. You can check out Brooke Castillo on her website or podcast!

And remember to back it back and take responsibility for how you got to here so that you can step into your power to get to there. Choose your thoughts so they don’t choose you.
